Synthetic Wigs

Synthetic wigs are made from artificial raw materials making them easier to make and cheaper compared to natural hair wigs. They come in various colors from jet black to the more costume-friendly blue, green, purple, etc. Synthetic wigs can either be handmade or machine made with the latter being the cheaper method of manufacturing.

There are a number of reasons why synthetic wigs are preferred over their more natural counterpart. For one, style retention on synthetic wigs is a lot easier although they are not as customizable. However, they are so much easier to maintain. You just need to remember that they can not be heat treated.

Although synthetic wigs of today are a lot more natural looking, they are still not as natural looking as your natural hair. Under the heat of the sun, some might reflect sunlight in a way a nylon does.

Their life expectancy depends greatly on their usage. The more they are exposed to elements such as heat and water, the lesser lifespan they will have. They will look crinkled and fuzzy in time.

Whichever raw material your wig is made of, keep in mind that they do not get nutrients from your scalp and therefore need conditioning to keep them as natural looking as possible.
