These days, we generally have two categories under the wig and hair piece market. These categories are natural wigs and synthetic wigs. Each type of wig has its own advantages, disadvantages and misconceptions.

A common misconception for the wig and hair piece is that natural 100% natural hair wigs look more natural compared to synthetic wigs. This is definitely not true.

Synthetic wigs mostly come prestyled and are generally easier to maintain. This is the main reason that synthetic wigs are recommended for patients who are undergoing hair treatment. Other advantages of synthetic wigs include it’s availability of sizes and lightweight material all in all adding to comfort.
The natural wig and hair piece on the other hand is more versatile. They usually do not come prestyled so you can customize them to fit your need. One thing natural wigs can do that a synthetic wig can’t is its ability to be heat-styled. On the other hand, they might be a little heavier compared to their synthetic counterparts.
